Відкрийте очі на те, що відбувається в Україні. З таким гаслом до міжнародної спільноти звернувся сумчанин Олег, який пересувається на інвалідному візку. Публікуємо його історію.

«Наше місто Суми розташоване за 60 км від кордону з Росією і в перший день війни воно було оточене російською армією. Перші дні було тихо, російські війська встановили блокпости навколо міста і нікого не випускали.

Це тривало 10 днів, поки не почалися бомбардування та обстріли, спочатку – на околицях, вражали цивільні будинки та інфраструктуру.

Потім почали кидати бомби на житлові будинки ближче до центру міста. В результаті одного з рейдів загинуло 22 мирних жителя, загинула ціла сім’я – 3 брати, батько, мати і бабуся, а евакуаційного коридору весь цей час не було.

Що відбувалося з людьми – ви не уявляєте, коли немає ліків, особливо для людей з цукровим діабетом.

На 13-й день блокади нам дали перший коридор і ви можете зрозуміти, що тут почалося. Я ніколи не допускав, що картини з військових фільмів оживуть на моїх очах. Натовп людей намагається покинути місто, побоюючись за своє життя та життя своїх дітей.

Я виїхав, як і багато інших, але не знаю, скільки людей ще залишилося в місті. Я хочу, щоб світова спільнота нарешті розплющила очі і побачила звірства Путіна та його угруповання, інакше українців у наших містах не залишиться, і тоді цей монстр прийде за вами».

Open your eyes to what is happening in Ukraine. Oleg, a man in a wheelchair, addressed the international community with this slogan. We publish his story.

Our city of Sumy is located 60 km from the border with Russia and it was encircled by the Russian army on the first day of the war. The first few days were quiet, the Russian troops set roadblocks around the city and did not let anyone out.

It lasted for 10 days until bombing and shelling began, first – on the outskirts, they were hitting civilian houses or infrastructure.

Then they started to drop bombs on residential buildings closer to the city center. One of the raids killed 22 civilians, a whole family died – 3 brothers, father, mother and grandmother, and all that time there wasn’t any evacuation corridor.

What was happening to people – you cannot imagine, when there are no drugs, especially for people with diabetes.

On the 13th day of the blockade, they gave us the first corridor and you can realize what started here. I had never allowed a thought that pictures from war films would come to life before my eyes. Crowds of people trying to leave the city, fearing for their lives and the lives of their children.

I got out like many others, but don’t know how many people are still left in the city. I want the world community to finally open their eyes and see the atrocities done by Putin and his clique, otherwise there will be no Ukrainians left in our cities and then this monster will come after you”.
