В Україні триває проєкт «Криза в Україні: Реагування та відновлення з урахуванням потреб людей з інвалідністю під керівництвом та за координації організацій осіб з інвалідністю (2-га фаза)» (надалі – Проєкт), який реалізує Національна Асамблея людей з інвалідністю України (надалі – НАІУ) за підтримки Європейського форуму інвалідності (EDF) та Християнської місії незрячих (СВМ). В рамках проєкту громадські організації, що опікуються людьми з інвалідністю, підготували та захистили ґрантові заявки на виконання короткострокових проєктів. Ці проєкти дозволять поліпшити доступність осіб з інвалідністю до соціальних послуг та гуманітарної допомоги, що є особливо важливим в умовах війни та спровокованих нею ускладнень.

Житомирська обласна громадська організація людей з інвалідністю «Молодь. Жінка. Сім’я» (далі – ЖОГОЛІ «Молодь. Жінка. Сім’я») – ще одна громадська організація, котра бере участь у проєкті і завдяки цьому може покращити якість своєї діяльності та допомогти ще більшій кількості людей з інвалідністю. Місією організації є захист та задоволення інтересів своїх членів шляхом участі у реалізації проєктів і програм щодо соціальної, психологічної, трудової, медичної та інших видів реабілітації жінок та чоловіків з інвалідністю, членів їхніх родин. Завдяки підтримці донорів були реалізовані проєкти щодо підтримки прав і свобод жінок та чоловіків з інвалідністю та жінок, які виховують дітей та молодь з інвалідністю.

«На сьогоднішній день медичні заклади міста є архітектурно доступними. Жінка та чоловік з інвалідністю можуть отримати медичну послугу безперешкодно, – говорить Неля Ковалюк, голова організації. – Соціальні, транспортні, адміністративні послуги стають більш якісними для людей з інвалідністю різних нозологій, завдяки тісній співпраці з владою. ЦНАПи в Житомирській області, завдяки проведеним гендерним аудитам доступності, можуть надавати якісні адміністративні та соціальні послуги людям  з інвалідністю, що проживають у Житомирській області».

В рамках Проєкту було вирішено створити «Інклюзивний простір» в раніше наданому новому приміщені, яке стало офісом організації. «Інклюзивний простір» створюється з метою проведення заходів для людей з інвалідністю різних нозологічних груп, членів організації та партнерів. Було зроблено реконструкцію вхідної групи приміщення, розширили двері, побудували пандус, виконано чорнові роботи по заміні підлоги тощо. Наразі гостро стоїть питання ремонту туалетної кімнати. Приміщення ЖОГОЛ «Молодь. Жінка. Сім’я» буде використовуватися і для тимчасового прихистку людей з інвалідністю, ВПО. Також будуть проводитися заходи для маломобільних груп населення.

Робота в рамках проєкту кипить. Завершується реконструкція приміщень «Інклюзивного простору», тож усі ці приміщення будуть доступні для маломобільних груп населення. Створюється простір для спілкування організацій людей з інвалідністю у Житомирі, а також – ресурсний центр для людей з інвалідністю Житомира. Тимчасовий прихисток для ВПО з інвалідністю теж у процесі створення.

ZHOGOLI (Zhytomyr regional public organization of people with disabilities “Youth. Woman. Family.”) opens “Inclusive space” for people with disabilities in Zhytomyr

In Ukraine, the project “Crisis in Ukraine: Response and recovery taking into account the needs of people with disabilities under the leadership and coordination of organizations of people with disabilities (2nd phase)” (hereinafter – the Project), implemented by the National Assembly of People with Disabilities of Ukraine (hereinafter – NAPD). With the support of the European Disability Forum (EDF) and the Christian Mission of the Blind (CBM). As part of the project, public organizations caring for people with disabilities prepared and defended grant applications for the implementation of short-term projects. These projects will improve the accessibility of persons with disabilities to social services and humanitarian aid, which is especially important in the conditions of war and the complications caused by it.

Zhytomyr regional public organization of people with disabilities “Youth. Woman. Family” (hereinafter – ZHOGOLI “Youth. Woman. Family”) is another public organization that participates in the project and thanks to this can improve the quality of its activities and help even more people with disabilities. The organization’s mission is to protect and satisfy the interests of its members by participating in the implementation of projects and programs related to social, psychological, labor, medical and other types of rehabilitation of women and men with disabilities and their family members. Thanks to the support of donors, projects were implemented to support the rights and freedoms of women and men with disabilities and women who raise children and youth with disabilities.

“Today, the city’s medical facilities are architecturally accessible. A woman and a man with a disability can receive medical services without hindrance, says Nelya Kovalyuk, head of the organization. – Social, transport, and administrative services are becoming more qualitative for people with disabilities of various nosologies, thanks to close cooperation with the authorities. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Zhytomyr Oblast, thanks to gender audits of accessibility, can provide high-quality administrative and social services to people with disabilities living in Zhytomyr Oblast.”

As part of the Project, it was decided to create an “Inclusive Space” in the previously provided new premises, which became the office of the organization. “Inclusive space” is created for the purpose of holding events for people with disabilities of various nosological groups, members of the organization and partners. Reconstruction of the entrance group of the premises was done, the doors were widened, a ramp was built, rough work was done to replace the floor, etc. Currently, the issue of repairing the toilet room is pressing. ZHOGOL premises “Youth. Woman. “Family” will also be used for temporary shelter of people with disabilities, IDPs. There will also be events for groups with limited mobility.

Work within the framework of the project is boiling. The reconstruction of the premises of the “Inclusive Space” is being completed, so all these premises will be accessible to groups of the population with reduced mobility. A space is being created for communication between organizations of people with disabilities in Zhytomyr, as well as a resource center for people with disabilities in Zhytomyr. A temporary shelter for IDPs with disabilities is also in the process of being created.
