Минулого тижня в офісі представництва ООН в Україні відбулась зустріч з Координаторкою системи ООН в Україні, представницею Генерального Секретаря ООН Деніз Браун.

Голова НАІУ Валерій Сушкевич разом з Вікторією Назаренко надали інформацію про діяльність Національної Асамблеї людей з інвалідністю України, визначились з пріоритетними напрямками співпраці інституцій ООН в Україні та станом реалізації проєктів, ініційованих ООН за участю НАІУ.

Окрема увага була приділена питанням:

– відновлення України з дотриманням інклюзивності і доступності;

– значимості розуміння поняття інвалідності, яке сьогодні є основою для гуманітарних політик і правових реалізацій міжнародного співтовариства для забезпечення прав людей з інвалідністю у світі;

– актуальної важливості участі громадянського суспільства у формуванні і реалізації державної політики по відношенню до людей з інвалідністю, як це передбачено Конвенцією ООН про права людей з інвалідністю, яку підписала і ратифікувала Україна.

Meeting with the Coordinator of the UN system in Ukraine Denise Brown

Last week, a meeting was held with the Coordinator of the UN system in Ukraine, the representative of the UN Secretary General, Denise Brown, in the office of the UN representation in Ukraine.

NAPD Chairman Valery Sushkevich together with Viktoria Nazarenko provided information on the activities of the National Assembly of People with Disabilities of Ukraine, determined the priority areas of cooperation of UN institutions in Ukraine and the state of implementation of projects initiated by the UN with the participation of NAPD.

Particular attention was paid to the following issues:

– restoration of Ukraine with respect for inclusiveness and accessibility;

– the importance of understanding the concept of disability, which today is the basis for humanitarian policies and legal implementations of the international community to ensure the rights of people with disabilities in the world;

– the urgent importance of the participation of civil society in the formation and implementation of state policy in relation to people with disabilities, as stipulated by the UN Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities, which was signed and ratified by Ukraine.
