For 10 years now, we have been living under the shadow of war, and over the past two years, every corner of Ukraine has felt and continues to feel its destructive power.
When will the war end? Thousands of Ukrainians who fled the war and found themselves in different countries around the world ask themselves this question every day. When will our bright, peaceful, and familiar life - "Life after the war" - come?
We are not just waiting. We are acting, rebuilding, supporting and restoring, protecting and preserving all our loved ones.
This is done by people - those strong people who have defeated death and who inspire and admire by their example. Their stories are instructions for building a life after the war: for themselves, their families and friends, acquaintances and strangers.
The heroes of our articles are people who have gone from injury to recovery in various medical institutions and the only social adaptation and rehabilitation camp for veterans who lost their sight in the war and their families, Life After War, which was organized by the National Assembly of People with Disabilities of Ukraine together with partners.
What is it: "Life after the war"? It is a systematic work in supporting, training, rehabilitation and accompaniment of veterans with vision loss and their families. It is a life filled with respect, knowledge, and the personal experience of the coaches and instructors. Each participation of veterans in the camp is a step towards acquiring new skills necessary for their further independent life after vision loss.
An individual approach, selection of disciplines and consideration of personal capabilities form the principles of resilience, strengthen faith in oneself, one's capabilities, and inspire one to go further. After all, if someone can do it, I can do it! And if no one has done it yet, I will be the first!
Each of them is a winner. Each of them forms their own individual strategy. Each of them is unique.
So, meet our Heroes and those who are close to them. We invite you to the world of superpowers, strength, faith and love!
