What is NAIU?

• There are about 3 million people with disabilities in Ukraine.

• In 2001, a group of people formed an association to change this situation.
• They called it the National Assembly of People with Disabilities of Ukraine.

• They all have a common goal: to change the lives of people with disabilities in Ukraine for the better.

• The NAIU is run by people who also have disabilities.

• Being independent means making decisions on your own.
• Decisions on employment are made exclusively by NAIU organizations and no one else

• The NAPD works for people with disabilities, for organizations that have united to protect the rights of people with disabilities

• This means that each organization has a voice and can express its opinion.
• No decision is made solely by one person.

• The NAIU works for people with disabilities.
• This means that NAIU is fighting for:
• - equal opportunities
• - protection of the rights of people with disabilities
• - confidence that no decision about people with disabilities will be made without their participation and consent.

• NAIU unites more than 120 non-governmental organizations.

• The NAIU is convinced that people with disabilities are an integral part of our society.
