December 07, 2023 in the assembly hall Storozhynets City Council a training session was held on «What is inclusion? Why is accessibility important?».
The purpose of the training: to promote awareness of people with disabilities and change attitudes in society. To broaden the understanding of local government representatives about disability and accessibility.
We talked about the fact that :
- Inclusion is the process of real inclusion of people with disabilities in active social life and is equally necessary for all members of society
- How to ensure inclusion and accessibility in communities
- DBN requirements for healthcare facilities, educational institutions, etc.
- Arrangement of workplaces
- Accessibility of the shelter
The training was attended by representatives of local governments, the tax service, the employment center, the ASC, the pension fund, medical institutions, and NGOs.
The event was held as part of an advocacy campaign implemented within the framework of the project «Multisectoral Inclusive Humanitarian Assistance for IDPs, Returnees, Veterans and Host Communities in Ukraine», which implements National Assembly of People with Disabilities of Ukraine with the financial support of the German Federal Foreign Office (GFFO), CBM and EDF.
