Module 4. Presentation 4.2. Barrier-Free Admission: Organising Accessible and Non-Discriminatory Admission to VET Providers

The presentation focuses on how to organise admission to a VET institution so that it is accessible, clear, and non-discriminatory for applicants with special educational needs.
This material takes participants step by step through the applicant’s pathway: from first receiving information and an admission consultation to submitting documents, identifying necessary adaptations, and designating responsible staff members. Particular focus is on information accessibility, appropriate communication, document handling, and risks of discrimination during the admissions process.
The practical component helps participants model their own admission procedure for a VET provider, allocate responsibilities among staff members, and identify adaptations the provider can introduce. The result of this work may be a ready-to-use internal procedure or a relevant section of the Regulations on Inclusive Learning.
The presentation can be used during training sessions, in-house professional learning, and team-based work by VET provider staff as part of Module 4 of the Trainer’s Guide.
The project “Inclusive Vocational Education and Training: Improving Training for Veterans and People with Disabilities” is implemented by the National Assembly of People with Disabilities of Ukraine (NAPD) in cooperation with Christoffel-Blindenmission Christian Blind Mission e.V. (CBM) with financial support from the European Union, Germany, Poland, Estonia, and Denmark, as part of the Skills4Recovery Multi-Donor Initiative, implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and Solidarity Fund PL (SFPL).
