An electronic queue for free joint replacement is operating in Ukraine. Patients who need hip, knee, shoulder, or elbow replacement can receive this service free of charge.
"Services for performing endoprosthetic surgeries are covered by the Medical Guarantees Program, and the implants (endoprostheses) themselves are centrally purchased by the state. In addition, endoprostheses can be purchased from local budgets within the framework of individual regional programs," he explains on his page in Facebook Міністерство охорони здоров’я України.
According to the ministry, more than 22,000 people have already registered in the electronic queue. The largest number of entries is in Kyiv, Poltava, and Rivne. At the same time, in most hospitals, the number of patients in the queue is from 50 to 100 people.
According to the rules, a patient can only be placed in one queue at the institution. The Ministry of Health claims that the queue is formed transparently - taking into account medical indications, the degree of urgency and the date of the application. All stages are automated: from the moment of submitting the application to the operation, and each step is recorded in an electronic journal.
