The Ministry of Veterans' Affairs of Ukraine has developed and approved guidelines for employers on organizing employment and developing labor relations with war veterans. The document is a practical tool that will help companies not only fulfill their social mission but also attract motivated, resilient and experienced employees.
To whom are the recommendations addressed?
Enterprises, institutions, organizations, regardless of ownership, as well as individual entrepreneurs.
What employers should pay attention to:
- observance of the rights of veterans in the field of labor relations;
- creating an inclusive and barrier-free environment;
- Adapting the company's policies to the needs of Ukraine's defenders.
Basic principles of "veteran-friendly business":
- Leadership of the company's management in supporting veterans.
- Fair conditions for recruitment and return to work.
- Educational opportunities and retraining.
- Inclusive corporate culture.
- Health support programs.
- Attention to gender aspects.
- Support for veterans' families.
- Accessibility and adaptation of workplaces.
- Correct representation of veterans in communications.
- Support for veteran businesses.
- Cooperation with veterans' organizations.
- Honoring the memory of fallen defenders.
- Public reporting and monitoring of progress.
Why is it important?
Research shows that more than 80% veterans face difficulties in finding employment, while businesses have little or no experience in hiring people with combat experience or disabilities. The guidelines help overcome these barriers.
