Ukrainian voice in Copenhagen: on rights, education and employment

June 18, 2025

Representatives of the National Assembly of People with Disabilities of Ukraine have started a program of working meetings in Copenhagen. The Ukrainian delegation arrived in the Danish capital at the invitation of DPOD, an organization that unites 36 Danish organizations of people with disabilities.

During the first day of the meeting, the participants learned about how the movement of people with disabilities in Denmark is structured and operates: representation, membership, democratic structure, and communication with the government. The guests from Ukraine also took part in a plenary session where they discussed the Danish experience of involving people with disabilities in the labor market in this country. The third discussion of the first working day was an introduction to the Danish experience of educating children with disabilities in primary and secondary schools.

In turn, representatives of the NAPD told the hosts about the protection of the rights and interests of people with disabilities in Ukraine, the work of specialized NGOs, their influence on social processes, and policy-making at the local and state levels.
