Training intensive «Psychology of martial law. How to build resilience in crisis situations»

What processes occur in the human body during war? How does war affect the human psyche? How to help yourself adapt to the war?

For more than five months now, Ukrainians have been living with a constant sense of fear. It is exacerbated by the sounds of air raids, explosions, shelling, and artillery fire. This activates a survival response in difficult conditions known as the “fight, flight or freeze” response.

The National Assembly of People with Disabilities of Ukraine (NAPWD), with the support of the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES), has launched a new project on the ZOOM platform Training intensive «Psychology of martial law. How to build resilience in crisis situations» The purpose of the trainings is to familiarize participants with the basics of martial law psychology; provide information on areas of influence and responsibility in extreme situations and after their completion; and work on techniques and methods of stress resistance, emotional competence, and mental health coaching.

The speaker of the event was Natalia Semytotska - business coach, trainer, founder of Mental Health Academy UA.

Today, August 2, 2022, The first module on “Psychology of War” was held, during which Natalia Semytotska familiarized the participants with standard mental reactions to destabilization and loss of orientation; shock trauma, the main supports during the war and how does a real threat to life affect the psyche?

The first of five online training events was attended by representatives of NGOs - members and partners of the NAIU.
