17-year-old Bohdan has had a severe form of cerebral palsy since birth. He requires constant care—not only the strength and attention of his loved ones but also specialized care equipment tailored to his needs.
When Bohdan was younger, the family was able to receive a wheelchair through state programs. However, over the years, the equipment wore out while the need remained. For a long time, the family had to use a borrowed wheelchair. Now the situation has changed: thanks to a project, Bohdan has received a new, individually fitted, and adapted wheelchair. This is more than just a technical aid—it is a tool for mobility, dignity, and convenience for both him and his family.
Soon, the family is also expected to receive another crucial form of assistance—a lift for moving a person with impaired motor activity. This device will significantly simplify Bohdan’s care, allow for safer repositioning, and reduce the physical strain on his family. It’s all about dignity, comfort, and supporting caring parents.
The Torchyn Territorial Community continues to collaborate with the National Assembly of People with Disabilities of Ukraine within the project "Multisectoral Humanitarian Assistance for IDPs, Returnees, Veterans, and Host Communities in Ukraine." This initiative is of great importance to the community, as its main goal is to provide support to people in various life circumstances and with diverse needs. At its core lies the belief that caring for each individual is the foundation of a cohesive and compassionate society.
