The National Assembly of Persons with Disabilities of Ukraine has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Christian Mission for the Blind(SVM), an international organization dedicated to helping people with disabilities.
The organization carries out active joint activities with Ukrainian partner organizations, mainly through joint projects with other, in particular European, structures. The Memorandum provides for direct cooperation between the NAPD and the SVM.
According to the SVM, their organization works in partnership with governmental and non-governmental structures to create an inclusive society for all, and their work is aimed at making a real contribution to the lives of those in need. "We focus on developing local capacity in the regions where we operate. This approach not only improves the provision of healthcare, education, and rehabilitation services, but also contributes to the organizational development of our partner organizations," the organization says.
- We have the same values as our partner and share their vision of the main areas of activity. We believe that common values, mutual trust and approaches to work during the project implementation will become a platform for building the capacity of both organizations," said NAPD Secretary General Viktoriia Nazarenko.
Briefly about SVM: The organization got its name from Ernst Jakob Christoffel, who in 1908 traveled to Asia to support people with visual impairment and other disabilities. SVM's main goal is to break the cycle of poverty and improve the quality of life for people with disabilities around the world.
