Starting April 1, 2025, new requirements for passing the Assessment of daily functioning for certain categories of people with disabilities. This is an important step in implementing a modern, person-centered system for determining disability.
Who must undergo the assessment
Men aged 25-60 with disability group II or III, that were supposed to be re-examined in 2022-2024 but did not do so should be evaluated from April 1 to November 1, 2025.
Other people, who also did not undergo a re-examination during martial law, must do so until April 1, 2026.
This is not the case:
▪️ of persons who have been diagnosed with a disability as early as 2025 - if the review period has not yet begun;
▪️ persons with indefinite disability status;
▪️ military personnel and civil defense personnel - separate procedures apply to them.
Also. exceptions are provided for:
▪️ of people who are in the temporarily occupied territories or in the combat zone;
▪️ persons with severe disabilities (e.g., amputation, loss of sight or hearing, mental illness, or cancer).
How the evaluation is carried out
- Referral from a doctor - is the first step. It can be issued by your family doctor, general practitioner, or a specialist who is treating you.
- The doctor creates an electronic referral in the eHealth system.
- The assessment is carried out by a team of doctors in a healthcare facility that you can choose from the list of available ones.
- All decisions are in the electronic system, transparently and without unnecessary bureaucracy.
What you should do now
✅ Contact your doctor to find out if you need to be evaluated.
✅ Check whether the re-examination is due.
✅ Do not delay - preparation will take time.
