Training on Safe Recruitment Practices Held for NAPD Staff

18 November 2024

On November 18, 2024, the staff of the National Assembly of People with Disabilities of Ukraine (NAPD) took part in a training session titled “Developing Safeguarding Measures in the Recruitment Process Involving NAPD HR Staff.” The event was part of the international project “Disability-Inclusive Multisectoral Humanitarian Assistance for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), Returnees, Veterans, and Host Communities in Ukraine.”

During the training, participants learned:
✅ What safe recruitment is and why it’s essential for an organization’s safeguarding system.
✅ Which measures can be implemented to ensure safety throughout the hiring process.
✅ How to plan next steps toward the introduction of effective safeguarding policies.

Safe recruitment is a process that integrates key precautionary steps during hiring, onboarding, and personnel management. This approach fosters a secure working environment for staff and protects the beneficiaries we serve.

As NAPD implements its projects, it engages with vulnerable population groups — including people with disabilities, IDPs, and older adults (60+). Therefore, safeguarding policies and safe recruitment practices are vital to maintaining high standards in our operations.

This training was held within the framework of the project implemented by NAPD with financial support from the Federal Foreign Office of Germany (GFFO), CBM, and the European Disability Forum (EDF).
