Meeting with the Adviser on Disability Inclusion at the Office of the UN Representative

On January 5, 2024, with the assistance of the National Assembly of People with Disabilities of Ukraine, a meeting of NGOs of people with disabilities in Kharkiv region with Terryn Brown, Advisor on Disability Inclusion at the Office of the UN Representative, was held at the office of the Kharkiv Association of Blind Lawyers.

The head of the Kharkiv Association of Blind Lawyers, lawyer Oleh Lepetyuk told the audience about the organization's activities in the war. Representatives of other 12 NGOs briefed Ms. Brown on the activities of their organizations aimed at comprehensive support of people with disabilities.

One of the issues discussed at the meeting was the possibility of direct participation in UN grant programs by organizations in the Kharkiv region. Representatives of the organizations noted the need to increase the institutional capacity of the organizations.

As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached on further coordination and cooperation between the NGO and the UN Office.
