As part of the activities of the Resource Center at the National Assembly of People with Disabilities (NAPD), publics examinations of draft legal acts will be conducted. The Center will also provide consulting support to the general public. A hotline will be available to address issues related to the registration of persistent physical and mental dysfunctions, barrier-free accessibility, and rehabilitation services. Additionally, the Center will host educational and informational events, including seminars and webinars.
The Resource Center has been established within the Rehabilitation in Ukraine (Rehab4U) project, made possible by the generous support of the American people and implemented by the Momentum Wheels for Humanity NGO.
On the occasion of the opening, the Resource Center was visited by Oleksii Yaremenko, Rehab4U Project Manager, and Natalia Melnychenko, Deputy Project Manager of Rehab4U.
Presenting the Resource Center, Valeriy Sushkevych, Head of the NAPD, emphasized that it will serve as an open space for people with disabilities and a broad range of civil society representatives. This includes organizations of people with disabilities, veteran and patient organizations, parent organizations raising children and youth with disabilities, leaders of initiative groups, and other stakeholders. The main objective is to engage all the aforementioned categories of citizens in shaping and implementing public policy, enhance their access to medical and rehabilitation services, assistive technologies, and medical devices, and promote barrier-free and universal design. Additionally, the Center aims to provide opportunities for obtaining necessary legal support.
The NAPD Resource Center is open to the public on business days (Monday – Friday) from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
We invite public organizations, experts, civil society representatives, and all interested parties to join our initiatives, participate in seminars and events, and work together to improve the system of rehabilitation services in Ukraine (registration form).
