A training session on inclusive humanitarian aid is currently taking place in Chernivtsi region for community coordinators from three Ukrainian oblasts — Chernivtsi, Poltava, and Volyn. The training focuses on practical aspects of implementing a project aimed at supporting vulnerable groups, particularly people with disabilities, internally displaced persons (IDPs), returnees, and veterans.
This event is part of the international project “Disability-Inclusive Multisectoral Humanitarian Assistance for Internally Displaced Persons, Returnees, Veterans, and Host Communities in Ukraine,” implemented by the National Assembly of People with Disabilities of Ukraine (NAPD) with financial support from the Federal Foreign Office of Germany (GFFO), in partnership with the European Disability Forum (EDF) and Christian Blind Mission (CBM).
The Importance of Inclusive Aid
Inclusive humanitarian assistance ensures equal access to services for all population groups — especially people with disabilities. One of the project’s key goals is to strengthen the capacity of communities to provide aid that addresses the specific needs of vulnerable populations. During the training, participants explored real-life cases, discussed the challenges of implementation across different regions, and worked together to identify effective solutions.
Opportunities for Collaboration and Experience Sharing
The training created a valuable space for coordinators to exchange experiences and best practices while building stronger interregional cooperation. This collaboration will enhance the effectiveness of humanitarian efforts and promote the development of inclusive environments in host communities for those affected by the war.
The project runs until the end of the year and includes a series of additional training events and seminars designed to raise awareness about inclusive aid and engage all relevant stakeholders in the process.
National Assembly of People with Disabilities of Ukraine continues its work to ensure that every community in Ukraine is equipped to deliver high-quality, accessible humanitarian assistance that meets the needs of all its residents.
