Vira Yakovenko, Regional Coordinator for Public Relations of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights in Poltava Oblast, conducted a training on "Counteracting Domestic Violence during the COVID-19 Pandemic" for people with hearing impairments in Ternopil Oblast.
This training was the first in the second cycle of classes held with the support of the Abilene Foundation by the NGO "MIST" Sign Language Interpreters and People with Disabilities" (members of the NAIU) within the framework of the project "Organization of online trainings on combating domestic violence during the COVID-19 pandemic for women with hearing impairments in five regions of Ukraine".

The participants were women and men with hearing impairments from the Ternopil region. They learned about general concepts in the field of domestic violence prevention, analyzed the types of domestic violence and its causes. The specific cases and life situations discussed during the training aroused interest.
