The principle of accessibility in municipal target programs: the experience of Mykolaiv

The Mykolaiv community is continuing its advocacy campaign, “Humanitarian Response: Everyone Has the Right to Protection,” as part of the project, “Strengthening the Protection of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities during Humanitarian Response and Recovery in accordance with the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.” Recently, local activist Olga Vinogradova and her like-minded colleagues organized a round table discussion entitled “Integrating the principles of accessibility into humanitarian and urban target programs.”

The main problems of achieving accessibility in Mykolaiv, how they can be solved, how community activists interact with the authorities and try to systematically overcome the challenges faced by people with disabilities are discussed in a report by the Mart TV and radio company.
