Today's story is about a man from Bukovyna, Mr. Mykola. The man, along with his wife and two children, lives in a small village that is very close to the Romanian border. A few years ago, Mykola was seriously injured and now has a disability.

Mr. Mykola accidentally learned about the project and the assistance available from the NAPD through an announcement posted on the social network of the Chernivtsi Regional Organization of People with Disabilities «Leader«.
After calling the number, the man got to Valentina Balakhtar, a case manager of the NAIA project «Improving Rehabilitation Services in the Healthcare System» in Bukovyna. The man had a lot of questions: he wanted to receive mobility aids, free medicines, as well as financial assistance for the purchase of firewood, etc.
Thanks to the coordinated cooperation of the NAIU project case manager, representative of the Government Commissioner for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities in Chernivtsi Regional State Administration Valentyna Dobrydina, and the NAIU Secretariat, the issue was resolved. Mykola received financial assistance from the Assembly and was able to buy firewood, applied to the Department of Social Protection to receive rehabilitation aids and received step-by-step instructions on how to get medicines and medical devices for free.
The project's assistance does not end there, as Mr. Mykola now calls to get support, guidance, and legal advice to resolve current issues. The man is grateful for the help and support shown with the coordinated cooperation: «Thanks to the project, I am able to buy medicines and heat my home, now it is even warmer in my house,» he says with a smile. The project continues, and we are bringing victory closer together!
