Denys, 11, from Davydivka village, Chernivtsi Oblast, can now study safely and comfortably thanks to a special desk provided to him as part of the project «Multi-Sectoral Inclusive Humanitarian Assistance for IDPs, Returnees, Veterans and Host Communities in Ukraine».
Why this desk is important for a boy:
- The adjustable tilt angle allows you to work out both sitting and standing.
- The convenient design makes learning safe even for an active child.
- You can use it not only to study but also to relax.
Denys studies at home and also attends the Inclusive Center in Storozhynets twice a week, where he works with a speech therapist, rehabilitation therapist and speech therapist. Together with his mom, dad and older sister, who is 14, he overcomes difficulties with the support of educators and NGOs.
Denys's mother contacted project coordinator Vladyslav Dobrydin from the National Assembly of People with Disabilities of Ukraine, and thanks to their joint efforts, the boy received exactly what he needed to study comfortably.
This story is an example of how important the cooperation of families, educators, and public organizations is. Inclusion is not about making everyone the same, but about giving everyone an equal chance.
This publication was created within the framework of the project «Multisectoral Inclusive Humanitarian Assistance for IDPs, Returnees, Veterans and Host Communities in Ukraine» implemented by the National Assembly of Persons with Disabilities of Ukraine with the support of the German Foreign Office and the Christian Blind Mission.
