75-річна Слава Степанівна все життя мешкає у селі Переспа, Рожищенського району, що на Волині. У 2002-2006 роках жінка була головою сільської ради. Саме за її ініціативи у місцевій амбулаторії зробили опалення.
«Амбулаторія і без опалення працювала, але персонал так мерз, страшне. Мені вдалося не тільки опалення зробити, а й карету швидкої допомоги «вибити». І ще я в село газ провела!», — згадує Слава Степанівна під час нашої випадкової зустрічі в межах експедицій в регіони.
Нині вона пенсіонерка, однак все одно знає кожного місцевого жителя і турбується про те, що відбувається в її селі. Зокрема, каже, що Переспа має проблеми з доступністю для маломобільних категорій населення і людей з інвалідністю.
Через відсутність громадського транспорту жінка й сама пересувається на велосипеді.
«Доводиться їздити, бо треба ж і ліки, і продукти, і до знайомих заїхати, поговорити, подивитися, як вони. Автобуси в нас дуже погано ходять, а автівки не в усіх є. Інших проблем теж вистачає: пандуси не всюди є, а де є, то такі круті, що й не доступні для людей. Дуже не вистачає нам інформації, часом пенсіонери й не знають, де і як можна отримати гуманітарну допомогу чи якісь соціальні послуги», — розповіла Слава Степанівна.
Вирішити всі проблеми за мить ми не можемо, однак можемо поступово осучаснювати громади. Цього тижня в межах адвокаційної кампанії «Інклюзивні громади — об’єднані дії для захисту прав людей з інвалідністю та за їхньої участі» у місті Рожище регіональні координатори Національної асамблеї людей з інвалідністю України провели спеціалізований тренінг «Освітні потреби дітей з інвалідністю та особливими освітніми потребами».
Учасники мали змогу обговорити проблеми сучасної освіти та доступу до інформації людей з інвалідністю, батьків, які виховують дітей та молодь з інвалідністю, і поділитися досвідом, який допоможе зробити освітній процес доступним для всіх.

A 75-year-old woman, Slava Stepanivna, has lived all her life in the small village of Perespa, Volyn Oblast. In 2002-2006, she was the head of the village’s council. It was on her initiative that in the local outpatient clinic’s heating was done.
“The outpatient clinic worked even without heating, but the staff was so cold, it was terrible. I managed not only to do the heating, but also to “knock out” the ambulance. And I also brought gas to the village!”, Slava Stepanivna recalls during our chance meeting as part of business trips to the pilot regions.
Now she is retired, but she still knows every local resident and worries about what is happening in her village. In particular, he says that Perespa has problems with accessibility for people with reduced mobility and people with disabilities.
Due to the lack of public transport, the woman travels by bicycle herself.
“I have to travel, because I need medicine and groceries, and to visit friends, talk, see how they are. Buses here are very bad, and not everyone has a car. There are also enough other problems: ramps are not everywhere, and where there are, they are so steep that they are not accessible to people. We lack information, sometimes pensioners don’t know where and how to get humanitarian aid or some social services,” said Slava Stepanivna.
We cannot solve all problems at once, but we can gradually modernize communities. This week, within the framework of the advocacy campaign “Inclusive communities – united actions to protect the rights of people with disabilities and with their participation” in the city of Rozhishche, the regional coordinators of the National Assembly of People with Disabilities of Ukraine conducted a specialized training “Educational needs of children with disabilities and special educational needs”.
The participants had the opportunity to discuss the problems of modern education and access to information for people with disabilities, parents who raise children and youth with disabilities, and share experiences that will help make the educational process accessible to everyone.
