Starting October 19, the first electronic prescription can be obtained without a visit to a doctor, the Ministry of Health reported.
The process of using e-prescriptions has become more convenient. Previously, a patient could receive the first e-prescription without a visit to a doctor only in case of acute or chronic diseases.
Now, even if the patient visits a doctor remotely for the first time, the doctor has the right to issue an e-prescription for medicines without a personal appointment. The exception is for patients undergoing substitution maintenance therapy.
In this case, the physician must base his or her decision on the data received from the patient about his or her current condition, complaints, and information from his or her primary medical records.
He or she must also enter medical records of such interaction into the electronic healthcare system (EHR).
