Analytical report on the mental state of certain categories of citizens and access to mental health services in the communities of Volyn, Poltava and Chernivtsi regions

The All-Ukrainian Public Association "National Assembly of People with Disabilities of Ukraine" (hereinafter - NAPDU) conducted a survey of 400 persons with disabilities, legal representatives of disabled persons, children with disabilities, as well as the elderly, single women, and internally displaced persons, war veterans, family members of fallen defenders of Ukraine, and female defenders of Ukraine on the availability of mental health services in Volyn (Torchyn and Rozhyshche communities), Poltava (Opishnya and Karlivka communities), and Chernivtsi (Storozhynets and Mamayiv communities) regions.

The survey was conducted from December 18, 2023, to January 18, 2024, by filling out a questionnaire in a Google form. The purpose of the survey was to investigate the mental state of certain categories of the population, the availability of mental health services for them, and to study urgent problems in this area in the communities of Volyn, Poltava, and Chernivtsi regions.

The answers received were analyzed in a generalized form in compliance with the principle of confidentiality.

The results of the questionnaire were processed using the methods of generalization, analysis, and synthesis.
Based on the results of the survey, generalized conclusions and proposals on the above issues were prepared. The information obtained will be used in the further activities of the NAIU and its partners, in particular during advocacy campaigns, preparation of analytical reports (letters) to domestic and international institutions, and policy-making at the local and national levels regarding the provision of mental health services.
