On March 5, 2026, a public dialogue on access to healthcare services for persons with disabilities will take place in the Storozhynets territorial community. The event will be held at Storozhynets Multidisciplinary Intensive Care Hospital and will be part of the advocacy campaign “Communities for All: Creating Change Together with Persons with Disabilities.”
The meeting starts at 12:00. The event will feature an open dialogue with the hospital management on barriers to access to medical and diagnostic services, as well as a flash mob «Equal Access - Equal Life».
The goal of the advocacy campaign is to promote equal access to medical and diagnostic services in the community for people with disabilities. It is not only about the physical accessibility of facilities, but also about the introduction of universal medical equipment that allows all patients to be examined without exception, as well as the involvement of people with disabilities in decision-making processes in the community.
The campaign is being implemented by the National Assembly of People with Disabilities of Ukraine and the Chernivtsi Regional Organization of People with Disabilities «Leader» in cooperation with the Storozhynets Multidisciplinary Intensive Care Hospital and the Storozhynets City Council.
The initiative is carried out within the project “Multi-sectoral Humanitarian Assistance Inclusive of Disability for Internally Displaced Persons, Repatriates, Veterans and Host Communities in Ukraine.” The project is implemented by the National Assembly of People with Disabilities of Ukraine in partnership with the European Disability Forum with the support of the Federal Foreign Office of Germany and CBM – Christian Blind Mission.
«The healthcare sector is one of the most important priority areas because community residents, including people with limited mobility, often go to medical facilities for examinations, diagnostics, treatment, and consultations,» explains Valentyna Dobrydina.
The public dialog in Storozhynka is intended to become a platform for an open conversation between the community, people with disabilities, representatives of medical institutions and local authorities. The organizers expect that the meeting will result in a common vision of practical steps to improve the accessibility of medical services in the community.
The flash mob «Equal Access - Equal Life» is intended to remind us that affordable healthcare is not a privilege, but a basic right of every person.
