Informed Communities – The Path to an Inclusive Society

March 4, 2025

In the Mamaivtsi Territorial Community of the Chernivtsi region, a project titled “Multisectoral Humanitarian Assistance with a Disability-Inclusive Approach for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), Repatriates, Veterans, and Host Communities in Ukraine” is actively being implemented. The project is carried out by the National Assembly of People with Disabilities of Ukraine (NAPD) with financial support from the German Federal Foreign Office (GFFO), CBM, and EDF.

Recently, as part of this initiative, meetings were held in the starosta districts of the villages of Hlynytsia and Drachyntsi, where community members were informed about available assistance and support opportunities.

During these meetings, participants learned about the activities of the National Assembly of People with Disabilities of Ukraine (NAPD), which provides legal, social, and informational support to the community. Special emphasis was placed on the accessibility of information for all residents, as awareness helps people find solutions to their needs more quickly.

“We distributed informational brochures and calendars provided by NAPD. These are not just printed materials – they are a way for people to get answers to their questions and find out where to seek help. When information is shared, more people can not only receive support but also spread the word to others. This is how we create a strong and united community,” says project coordinator Lyudmyla Krestianikova.

Such meetings help not only to raise awareness but also to build a more inclusive society, where every individual has equal access to resources and support. Thanks to this project, residents of the Mamaivtsi community gain vital information about their rights, social protection opportunities, and mechanisms for receiving assistance.

The project coordinators continue their active work, planning new events and encouraging communities to remain open to cooperation. The more people learn about their opportunities, the stronger the community becomes as a whole!
