The National Assembly of People with Disabilities of Ukraine, in cooperation with the humanitarian організацією “People in Need” and with financial support from the people of the Czech Republic, projecthas launched a new project aimed at strengthening the capacity of organizations of persons with disabilities (OPDs).
The project spans several regions of Ukraine and offers a comprehensive approach to supporting activists who represent the interests of people with disabilities at both local and national levels.
What does the project include?
The initiative will deliver a series of training sessions for OPD representatives seeking to improve their skills in advocacy, communications, engagement with authorities, and resource mobilization.
In addition, specialized training will be provided for partner organizations working in the field of humanitarian response, with a specific focus on disability inclusion.
A dedicated focus is placed on architectural accessibility. Participants will be trained to assess physical spaces for barrier-free access and will receive a practical guide with advocacy recommendations in this area.

Organizations of persons with disabilities play a vital role in advancing the rights of pceople with disabilities. Strengthening their capacity will enhance their ability to shape inclusive policies, improve access to services, and build effective partnerships at the local level.
