We invite you to join the International Online Webinar "Humanitarian Response: Strengthening the Leadership of Women with Disabilities", which will bring together international experts, representatives and civil society representatives from different countries to discuss inclusive approaches in humanitarian response through the prism of the rights of women with disabilities and gender equality. The webinar will be held with the participation of international speakers.

The webinar is designed to create a safe space for dialogue where women with disabilities can share their own experiences of participating in humanitarian processes, discuss challenges and barriers, and identify ways to strengthen leadership and influence decision-making.

The event will promote the principles of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) and inclusive humanitarian approaches that ensure the real participation of women with disabilities in the planning, coordination and implementation of humanitarian programs - at the national, European and global levels.

In the context of the war in Ukraine and other humanitarian crises, women with disabilities remain among the groups most negatively affected by limited access to information, services, evacuation, shelter, humanitarian assistance, and protection mechanisms. At the same time, they are agents of change whose experiences and vision are key to shaping truly inclusive, just, and sustainable humanitarian solutions.

Webinar topics:

  • The rights of women with disabilities during war, conflict and humanitarian crises;
  • Participation of women with disabilities in humanitarian processes and decision-making;
  • The role of organizations of women with disabilities in humanitarian response and recovery;
  • Challenges and barriers to access to humanitarian assistance;
  • Inclusive approaches that take into account diversity.

Presentation format:

Each speaker will have 10–15 minutes to present, followed by a question and answer (Q&A) session in an open discussion format.

The webinar will be a platform for sharing experiences, developing common approaches, and strengthening the voice of women with disabilities in humanitarian response and recovery.
