On May 14, 2024, representatives of the NAIU visited the Lubny Territorial Community of Poltava Oblast to present the Inclusive Rehabilitation Services project, which is being implemented with the support of the USAID GOVERLA Project. Participation in the event takerepresentatives of local governments, healthcare institutions, and public unions of people with disabilities.
Participantи of the event were introduced tome with the general aspects of rehabilitation services, discussed problematic issues of their provision in the community, and presented the Algorithm for conducting a study on the provision of accessible medical and rehabilitation services . territorial communities. They also considered the role of local governments in coordinating the rehabilitation sector, in particular provision of medical and rehabilitation services . community.
In order to assess the role and functions of local governments in the implementation of inclusive medical and rehabilitation services, an in-depth interview was conducted with representatives of local authorities.
As part of the event, the rehabilitation department of the Lubny City Primary Health Care Center was visited. During the meeting with the hospital representatives the following issues were discussed availableіstь rehabilitation services for people with disabilities, as well as issues arising in the administration of medical institutions, in particular in relation to specialists, rehabilitation equipment, methods of providing rehabilitation services, training, etc.
The meeting contributed to raising awareness and knowledge of local authorities and NGOs on the provision of inclusive medical and rehabilitation services, disability and inclusion issues.

On May the 14thth, representatives of the National Assembly of Persons with Disabilities visited Lubny territorial community in Poltava region to present the Inclusive Rehabilitation Services project, which is being implemented with the support of the USAID "HOVERLA" Project. Representatives of local self-government bodies, healthcare facilities, and public organizations of people with disabilities attended the meeting.
The participants of the meeting were informed on the general aspects of delivering rehabilitation services, discussed the challenges related to community-based rehabilitation service delivery, and presented the Algorithm for assessing the provision of accessible medical and rehabilitation services in territorial communities. They also discussed the role of local governments in coordinating the rehabilitation sector, in particular providing community-based medical and rehabilitation services.
To assess the roles and functions of local governments in implementing inclusive medical and rehabilitation services, an in-depth interview was conducted among representatives of local authorities.
The event included a visit to the Lubny Municipal Center of Primary Medical and Sanitary Aid. During the meeting with the hospital representatives, the accessibility of rehabilitation services for people with disabilities was discussed, along with the challenges faced when administering medical facilities, in particular related to staffing, rehabilitation equipment, methods for rehabilitation service delivery, conducting trainings, and others.
The project meeting contributed to enhancing the awareness and knowledge among local authorities and NGOs in what concerns the provision of inclusive medical and rehabilitation services, disability and inclusion agenda.
