Inclusive Assistance for Improving Everyday Life

24 March 2025

Angela is a resident of the village of Novi Broskivtsi. All her life, she has been devoted to her passion—embroidery. Her works have become true pieces of art. However, over time, her health condition changed, and she became dependent on the help of her family.

To improve her mobility, Angela received a new wheelchair—comfortable, easy to maneuver, and adapted to her needs. Choosing the right one was not easy; she had to try several models to find the most suitable and comfortable option. Her family is happy that she can now move around more easily, but there is still one issue—the standard cushion causes discomfort.

To address this problem, a pressure-relief cushion was recommended, which will help prevent discomfort and make using the wheelchair even more comfortable. Thanks to this, Angela will be able to spend more time outdoors, communicate with her loved ones, and engage in her favorite activities.

The project “Multisectoral Humanitarian Assistance Considering Disability for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), Returnees, Veterans, and Host Communities in Ukraine” continues to provide support to residents of the Storozhynets community. It is implemented by the National Assembly of People with Disabilities of Ukraine with financial support from the German Federal Foreign Office (GFFO), CBM, and EDF. The project helps people gain access to assistive technologies that promote activity, independence, and a high quality of life.
