Voice tonometers for people with visual impairment

February 5, 2025

Within the framework of the project "Crisis in Ukraine: Response and Recovery with Persons with Disabilities" (Phase 2), implemented by the NAIU with the support of the European Disability Forum (EDF) and the Christian Blind Mission (CBM), we continue to provide the necessary assistance to those in need.

Automatic blood pressure monitors with voice output have become a real lifesaver for visually impaired people, helping them to monitor their health on their own. Recently, nine visually impaired people from Dnipro received such tonometers. Among them. Tatiana Nikolaevna:

"I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the automatic voice tonometer I received thanks to you. Before, I could not measure my blood pressure on my own. The instructions for the device are very clear, so you can quickly learn how to monitor your health. A blood pressure monitor with speech output is especially necessary for a blind person, because it is not always possible to go to the doctor. My old tonometer was out of order, and I had no way to repair it. But at my age, it is vital to monitor my blood pressure, especially when I was diagnosed with arrhythmia and hypertension a few years ago. And suddenly I was so happy! With this tonometer, I can monitor my health on my own, I don't need the help of strangers. And this is very important!

Thank you, dear friends. You are not just helping - you are giving us hope for a better life. May your kindness and generosity be repaid a hundredfold!"

The project is ongoing, and we will continue to support people with disabilities by providing them with the necessary means for a comfortable life.

Together we make the world more accessible!

Automatic talking blood pressure monitors have become a true lifesaver for people with visual impairments, helping them to independently monitor their health. Recently, nine visually impaired individuals from Dnipro received these monitors. Among them are Tetiana Mykolaivna:

"I want to sincerely thank you for the automatic talking blood pressure monitor I received thanks to your support. Previously, I couldn't measure my blood pressure independently. The device's instructions are very clear, making it easy to learn how to monitor my health on my own. For a visually impaired person, this device is essential, especially when visiting a doctor independently is not always possible.

My old monitor broke, and I couldn't repair it. However, at my age, it's important to monitor blood pressure regularly, especially since a few years ago I was diagnosed with arrhythmia and hypertension. Suddenly, this gift brought me immense joy! With this monitor, I can track my health independently without needing help from others. That's incredibly important!

Thank you, dear friends. You don't just provide help - you give hope for a better life. May your kindness and generosity return to you a hundredfold!"
