Gynecological services are available to residents of Vinnytsia region!

31 October 2022

The purchase of this chair was made possible thanks to the financial support of Hidetomo Akamatsu from Japan.

«Every woman has the right to decent and affordable gynecological services," says Svitlana Demko, «And we want to overcome stereotypes about the reproductive rights of women with disabilities and other discriminated groups.«.

The head of the Pirogov Regional Perinatal Center shares his emotions about the purchase of the chair Inna Kukuruza: «The Regional Perinatal Center is the only facility in Vinnytsia Oblast that provides care to pregnant women, women in labor and women with disabilities. We examine such patients and deliver babies on the ground floor. We needed a modern gynecological chair, so we asked philanthropists for help. Now we have a comfortable examination room in the maternity ward of our hospital. We are grateful for such a necessary and important help.».

Deputy Director of the Department of Health and Rehabilitation of Vinnytsia Regional Military Administration Tatiana Bondarenko believes that all medical facilities should be accessible to patients with disabilities. «In Vinnytsia region, we are gradually moving in this direction. Yes, there is still work to be done. Of course, there should be accessibility to services, but it is also important that doctors work with such patients in a tolerant manner. That is why we are conducting a number of trainings on providing medical care to people with disabilities,» said Bondarenko.

We congratulate the residents of Vinnytsia on the great news, because any disease, especially cancer, is treated better the earlier it is detected.

For its part, the National Assembly of People with Disabilities of Ukraine will continue to continue its advocacy campaign despite the military actions, because we believe in our victory and that services should be accessible, safe and of high quality for all women, including those with disabilities.

Universal gynecological chairs should be available in every hospital, in every corner of Ukraine.

To be continued... We are working.
