The National Assembly of People with Disabilities of Ukraine (NAPWD) invites NGOs of persons with disabilities that are members of NAPWD, actively work in the field of protection of the rights of persons with disabilities and intend to increase their organizational capacity to participate in the competition.
The selected organizations will have the opportunity to receive a set of measures aimed at developing the organization, improving the statutory documents and psychological relief for their leaders, namely
- Carry out a self-assessment of the organization through participation in the 2-day event «Self-assessment of the organizational capacity of NAIU member organizations» (April 14-15, 2026, Kyiv, Premier Hotel Rus).
Result: The organization will develop a structured and action-oriented development plan that identifies priority areas for improvement, specific steps to enhance capacity, and tools for their implementation.
2. Get individual consultations a lawyer to develop or update statutory and strategic documents (charter, strategy, mission, vision, etc.);
Result: the organization will have updated and legally correct constituent and strategic documents that comply with current legislation, reflect the actual areas of activity, and strengthen institutional capacity and management efficiency.
3. Be involved in a series of 3 thematic webinars, whose content will be based on the results of the capacity assessment;
Result: Participants will gain practical knowledge and tools to address identified organizational gaps, improve the professional level of the team, and implement systemic changes in the organization.
4. Become a participant in a 5-day psychological and rehabilitation torum for leaders and activists at the Western Rehabilitation and Sports Center, aimed at restoring psycho-emotional stability, preventing burnout and developing self-help skills (June 15-19, 2026).
(The event will be held in an inclusive, barrier-free space adapted to the different needs of participants with disabilities);
5. Gain experience in preparing and implementing an organization's strategy through involvement in the process preparation and development of the NAIU Strategy for 2026-2030;
Participation in other NAIU programs and activities.
NAIU holds events thanks to the support of the Organization of People with Disabilities in Denmark (DPOD) within the framework of the project «Strengthening the Capacity of the National Assembly of People with Disabilities of Ukraine, its Member and Partner Organizations».

DPOD is a Danish national umbrella organization founded in 1934 that brings together 38 organizations of people with disabilities and systematically works to strengthen their institutional capacity and influence on public policy making, similar to the National Assembly of People with Disabilities of Ukraine. Thanks to DPOD's expert support and many years of experience, NAPD members have a unique opportunity to adopt the best practices of Danish organizations and implement European standards for the support and activities of organizations of people with disabilities in Ukraine.

Under the terms of the agreement between the NAIU and the DPOD, at least two organizations from Mykolaiv or Mykolaiv region will be involved in the events out of the seven NAIU member organizations.
The events are designed for two representatives from the same organization - financial and management/administrative departments.
