Methodological Recommendations. Inclusive Safety, Inclusive First Aid and Psychosocial Support in Wartime and Emergency Situations for Staff of Vocational Education and Training Providers

The methodological recommendations were developed for VET providers’ staff who need to be prepared to act in crisis and emergency situations while taking into account the needs of different participants in the educational process.

The publication combines three interconnected areas: inclusive safety, first aid, and psychosocial support. Particular attention is paid to creating a safe and accessible educational environment, actions during air-raid alerts, evacuation and sheltering, as well as the needs of persons with disabilities, veterans, and people with combat or traumatic experience.

The material helps VET staff understand the basic principles of safe behaviour, learn how to act before professional responders arrive, support a person in crisis, communicate without stigmatisation, and take individual needs into account. At the same time, the recommendations address self-regulation and maintaining education staff members’ own resilience and well-being.

The key principle of the recommendations: assistance must be safe, accessible, humane, and preserve the dignity of every person.
