Module 6. Handout 6.1. Ethical Dilemmas

The handout contains 12 practical situations that help educators sort out complex ethical issues that may arise during the teaching and support of students with special educational needs. The cases are based on situations from the daily work of a vocational education institution and offer participants not ready-made formal answers, but a space for professional analysis and discussion.

Topics include confidentiality and disclosure of personal information, stigma, discriminatory statements, the line between adaptation and reduction of requirements, responding to veteran triggers, bullying, interaction with parents, ethical issues of assessment, respect for neurodiversity, use of photos and videos only with consent, and interaction with employers during work experience.

Each case contains questions for group work that help identify an ethical dilemma, assess possible risks for the applicant and other participants in the educational process, find the correct algorithm of actions and formulate the professional position of the teacher. The material focuses on human dignity, non-discrimination, confidentiality, professional boundaries and responsibility.

The handout is intended for practical and group work within topic 6.1 of Module 6 of the Trainer's Guide.
