Bulletin "Accessibility: Steps to change"

Bulletin "Accessibility: Steps to Change", which tells about the participation of people with disabilities in addressing accessibility issues; about the changes that have taken place since Ukraine's independence to date due to the involvement and inclusion of public organizations of people with disabilities in decision-making processes at all levels.

The change in the concept of disability after Ukraine ratified the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities has led to the need to ensure a comprehensive approach to creating accessibility conditions that would facilitate the realization of the rights of persons with disabilities on an equal footing with other citizens of our country. To do this, it is necessary to use the achievements and experience of previous years, overcome the barriers of an unsettled society, improve legislation and control over its implementation in the area of accessibility, and change the attitude of society and every citizen to disability and accessibility issues.

The National Assembly of Persons with Disabilities of Ukraine adheres to the standards and principles set forth in the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and international human rights treaties ratified by Ukraine in the area of accessibility.

The materials of the newsletter are intended for a wide range of specialists working in the field of disability and accessibility, representatives of public organizations of people with disabilities, civil society organizations, journalists, teachers, and anyone who cares about this issue.

The Bulletin was developed and published within the framework of the National Partnership - Coordinated Accessibility Program, implemented by the All-Ukrainian Public Association "National Assembly of People with Disabilities of Ukraine" with the financial support of the Fund for Social Protection of Persons with Disabilities at the expense of the State Budget of Ukraine.
