Booklet "Universal design in the community: space, objects, information and services"

The booklet "Universal Design in the Community: Space, Objects, Information and Services" covers:
- discussing the diversity of human nature and the life cycle, which is fundamental to universal design;
- defining the concept of universal design and related concepts such as accessibility, special design, and reasonable accommodation;
- explanation of the seven principles and four focuses of universal design;
- practical advice on how to create public spaces, objects, information, and services based on universal design principles.
The booklet is addressed to employees of local authorities, in particular, those dealing with urban planning, architecture and housing and communal services, social protection, education, healthcare, etc. The booklet will also be useful for architects, designers, communication specialists, marketers, managers, those whose professional activities are related to the provision of information and services, as well as anyone interested in universal design.
The booklet was developed at the request of the Ukrainian Social Investment Fund (USIF) within the framework of the "Inclusion in Communities" program, implemented under the Project "Promotion of Social Infrastructure Development, USIF VI", financed by the German Government through KfW.
The publication is printed. The edition of 2011. The edition is limited.
