Developing business skills for people with disabilities
On April 4-6, the USAID Economic Opportunities for Conflict-Affected People Project held a training of trainers on business skills development for people with disabilities.

30 trainers were trained under the program «Business Skills Development for Those Who Want to Start Their Own Business». In each region, the team of trainers includes trainers with disabilities.
Over the course of the Project, training will be provided to two groups of people wishing to start their own business in each oblast. In total, about 300 participants in Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovs'k, Zhytomyr, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv and Kherson regions will get this opportunity.

The project works closely with the National Assembly of People with Disabilities to ensure inclusivity of events and disseminate information about training opportunities.
The goal of the training is to promote self-employment and small business.

Graduates of the training program will be able to participate in a mini-grant competition (up to UAH 38 thousand) to start their own small business, and will also receive legal and methodological support for 3 months.
The training course will include 10 modules (full days) and will last about 2 months. The estimated start date of the training course is the end of March 2017.

The course will include: choosing business areas that are easy to start with; testing business ideas; methods of attracting customers; the most modern methods of promoting goods and services via the Internet; sales techniques; legal support for business; financial management and reporting; long-term planning in business; preparation of a business plan.
The regional coordinators of the Project will register those who wish to participate in the training.
