“People with Disabilities About Their Rights: Every Voice Matters” – Alternative Report Summary
The National Assembly of People with Disabilities of Ukraine (NAPD) has prepared the Alternative Report titled “People with Disabilities About Their Rights: Every Voice Matters.” This comprehensive document highlights the challenges, rights, and needs of persons with disabilities in Ukraine.
The report was developed under the project “Ukraine War: OPD-led Disability Inclusive Response and Recovery (Phase 2)” with the support of the European Disability Forum (EDF) and the Christian Blind Mission (CBM).
Based on research, monitoring, surveys, and interviews with persons with disabilities, their legal representatives, children, youth, and veterans, the report identifies systemic barriers such as discriminatory terminology, lack of accessibility, and insufficient inclusivity in policymaking.
The document has been submitted to the UN Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and will serve as a foundation for future international and national efforts to achieve equality, accessibility, and social inclusion.
